Amboy, CA
Amboy is one of my favorite places in California. It was an old railroad stop along Highway 66 that ended up being passed by with more advanced trains and other highways. Roy’s Motel/Cafe no longer rents out rooms and the cafe just has snacks to grab. There is also an abandoned school and church, but it still has an operating Post Office. Amboy has the ability to transform you to a place where life was much, much slower.

Getting a new camera is like getting a new bike > Awesome!
So I recently got a Leica Q2. I’m pretty sure it’s the most expensive point-and-shoot camera in the world, but worth every penny. The quality of the images is exceptional. But the real reason for this purchase was portability. Lugging a huge DSLR camera with a big lens is a lot of work. You don’t always grab it when you go out for just a walk. The Leica’s size means that when I head out the door it heads out the door with me. It goes back to the old adage that the best camera is the one you have with you. The photos below are from a Hot Rod show in Palm Springs.
